Songs for Urban Intimacy (2008) public performance
This work is a performance for human subjects, and other humans subjects which behave as robots. The same principles for musical interaction established in my earlier work, Formants (2008), were set on live performers for the /in/stall event in Regina SK which featured public intervention artwork in parking stalls. Performers were seated in a circle in a grass-laden parking stall, posing with artist-made hairbrushes. Viewers were invited to brush the hair of the performers, at which point the performers would sing songs of their choice. As a memento of the interaction, viewers were given a lock of hair.
